Frané Lessac lived for many years on the Caribbean island of Montserrat. She is the author-illustrator of numerous books for children, including MY LITTLE ISLAND, which was a READING RAINBOW selection. She says, "What inspires me most about the Caribbean is the freshness of the scenery, the wonder, whimsy, and general fun. In ISLAND COUNTING 123, I tried to capture the simple beauties of that radiant world in words and paint." Frané Lessac now lives in Australia with her family.
