About the Author

Anu Adebogun (Author)Anu Adebogun is a British-Nigerian author, scholar and award-winning youth practitioner.With ten years' experience across the youth and community sector, Anu has partnered with leading national organisations to promote the safety and wellbeing of young people and improve their access to education. She authored the bestselling book 'Black and Brave History: 30 Sheroes Who Shook Britain' to celebrate the revolutionary impact of Black female presence through colourful, inspiring biography. Anu holds a first-class Law degree and completed an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Oxford. Presently, she continues her PhD studies at Oxford where she explores parent-child relationships and safety at home.Lila Cruz (illustrator)Lila Cruz is an illustrator, comic book artist and journalist. She puts together all these professions to make books and tell stories. Originally from Salvador, Bahia, Lila now lives in São Paulo, Brazil.Soofiya (illustrator)Soofiya's design practice centres around illustration, visual identity and book design, with most clients tending to be in the arts, cultural and activist sector. Soofiya's art practice and writings aim to articulate a commentary on gender, race, politics and bodies through a DIY and therapeutically informed approach.Soofiya has worked as a lecturer in design and arts at Universities and HE institutions nationally and internationally in the UK and Xiamen, China. Soofiya is currently an associate lecture at UAL on their MA Internet Equalities course as well as a sessional lecturer at Ravensbourne and Brighton University.
