Carol Kaufmann
Dan Kainan is a New York inventor, artist, photographer, and industrial designer. An alumnus of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, he is equally at home in such diverse fields as fabric screen-printing, electro-optic and laser systems design, and commercial lighting design and manufacturing. His art has been exhibited in the Ronald Feldman Gallery in Soho, among other New York galleries and private collections, and his lighting designs have been marketed nationwide. In the 1980s he started experimenting with holography, and then integrated images. This led to three patents in that field, the latest of which is the basis for his Photicular books.
Carol Kaufmann is a former staff writer for National Geographic, and, as one might imagine, is extremely well-travelled. She’s covered politics and presidential campaigns as well as archaeology, marine biology, and cultural anthropology stories all over the planet. Carol’s writing has appeared in Reader’s Digest, where she was the National Affairs Reporter, The Washington Post, George, and in the anthology A Woman’s Europe.
