Description

The ultimate scare for readers aged 9-12.

Do your kids love scary books and spine-tingling stories? Then you're in the right place.

Ghosts. Bad dreams. Creepy spiders. Alien infections. We all have something we're afraid of. And, of course, there are many other things that we don't know we're afraid of yet...

Open this book to find twenty (20) strange, chilling and eerie tales for readers aged 9-12 (and beyond, if they aren't chicken). Every single one of the 272 pages of this creepy collection for kids is packed with scenarios that'll make them gasp, shiver or wonder if something could actually be real. And then thankful that it's not.

Perfect for fans of R.L. Stine's 'Goosebumps' series, 'Dread Wood' by Jennifer Killick and Roald Dahl's 'Tales Of The Unexpected' (have you read them? They give me the shudders).

This book will keep your kids occupied for hours at sleepovers, around campfires, with friends at school or even reading on their own (if they think they can handle it). These are stories that play tricks with the imagination, keep people awake at night and make you afraid of being alone in a room. Remember to leave a light on.

Who is the man in the lift that no-one else can see? What kind of face is hidden behind the mask? Where is this place that's not quite home? And why is the small boy waiting alone outside the supermarket?

Whatever your worst nightmare is, it might be inside...

Enter if you dare.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Growing up on a steady diet of Doctor Who, Enid Blyton, Star Trek, Susan Cooper, Tintin, 2000AD, Rentaghost, Neil Gaiman and The X Files, he's on a mission to write books that young readers (and their parents, because he's had experience with bedtimes) will love to read. Or at least not want to put down. His 'Our Weird World' series for ages 8-12 features stories where ordinary children are thrust into extraordinary circumstances and somehow find their way through to an interesting ending.Douglas lives with his wife and two sons in Colchester, where life can be as weird as you want it to be. He listens to soundtrack music when he writes (and BBC 6 Music when he doesn't), loves cooking and generally needs more shelves for his ever-expanding collection of books.
