Karena Kelly is a pūkenga/lecturer in the reo Māori programme at Te Kawa a Māui Victoria University of Wellington. She is a licensed translator, has a PhD specialising in Māori linguistics, and is a graduate of Te Panekiretanga o Te Reo Māori.
