About the Author

Sally Morgan is one of Australia's best-known writers. She belongs to the Palyku people from the eastern Pilbara region of Western Australia. Her widely acclaimed first book, My Place, is one of Australia's most celebrated works. She has also illustrated and published numerous books for children including This is me!, Welcome Child!, Thank you rain!, The River, Girls Can Fly and Little Bird's Day.

Jingalu is a Bagawa woman from Gumbayggirr and Yaegl Country. She grew up in Coffs Harbour, in the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, and travelled around Australia with her art career as a young adult before returning home to raise her family. Jingalu has been painting since the age of 16 and creates to share stories and important messages about Culture. This is Jingalu's second book, her first being Gurril, Storm Bird.
