Highly detailed 1/700 scale model kit of the USS Lexington (CV-2), a World War II aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. Most notable for her participation in the "Battle of Coral Sea" (May 4 -8, 1942), the Lexington launched aircrafts that sank the Japanese aircraft carrier "Shoho" and heavily damaged the IJN carrier "Shokaku". However, the Lexington was attacked and heavily damaged by Japanese dive-bombers and torpeto-bombers on May 8, 1942, and she was scuttled by two torpedoes fired from destroyer USS Phelps later that day. This finely detailed 1/700 scale model kit accurately reproduces the famous "Lady Lex" and the kit comes with optional waterline plate and a display stand for a choice of display options. Include parts to build the following 1/700 scale carrier aircrafts (in clear plastic): F4F Wildcat, SBD Dauntless, and TBF Avenger. This is a great addition to your World War II maritime model collection.
