Few books affect me to the point of recommending them to everyone I know and coming back to me long after the last page has been turned. , with its haunting beauty and emotional devastation, is an exception. Keep an eye on Anna Sheehan; she's definitely a talent to watch - THE SF SITEAnna Sheehan has been a dedicated writer since her first year in high school, when her novella won second place in a local competition, losing only to a (now) professional mystery writer. Her first novel was published serially in a local newsletter when she was 16. She is a regular attendee of the Pacific Northwest Writers Association conference, who first invited her to attend their meeting with a scholarship. Anna lives on an isolated mountain ranch in central Oregon.
Rosalina Fitzroy is waking up . . . 62 years passed while she was locked away in the enforced sleep of a stasis tube. 62 years in which the world changed beyond recognition - at the end of which she was woken by a kiss. Now her world is changing again. The heiress to a vast, interplanetary empire, Rose is slowly waking up to the knowledge that her empire is a commercial - and sometimes cut-throat - beast, and that people she loves have made unforgivably tough decisions. But that's not all. Her best friend, Otto, is dying and the slim chance of saving his life lies in her hands. In a choice between Empire and friendship Rose knows where her heart lies . . . but when friendship, love and business become intertwined, she may have to make unforgivable decisions of her own.
