When Oenone Crossley-Holland started teaching at an inner city school in London, she had no idea what to expect. She just knew that there was no going back. After finishing university Oenone Crossley-Holland wanted a job she could really care about. She became a teacher with the Teach First scheme, a charity founded to encourage graduates to work for at least two years in challenging secondary schools. She has written a column for the Guardian on her teaching experiences.
