Cassandra Lee Ridley is an ex-airforce pilot who now scrapes a living flying low level contraband over the border to Mexico. Ed McBain is the pseudonym of Evan Hunter, author of The Blackboard Jungle and the screenplay for Hitchcock's The Birds. McBain's 87th Precinct series numbers over 50 novels.
