Can you gallop like a horse? Can you strut like a rooster? Can you run like a dog? Can you spring like a cat? Can you soar like an eagle? Can you swing like a chimp? Can you flutter like a butterfly? Can you swim like a turtle? Then take a bow and smile: you twinkle, like a star! Then take a bow and shine: a star is what you are.

All animals move, but how they move - whether they gallop, swim or fly - is a source of fascination for children. With its blend of art (using a technology that makes the figures actually move on the page) and rhyme, this book introduces children to a variety of animal motion.
“"At first glance, this looks like a regular old picture book--but the second you open it up, you'll be mesmerized. Thanks to a brand-new technique called "scanimation," the images on each page seem to move, as though you were watching a film instead of simply reading. Horses gallop, eagles soar--and young readers' jaws drop! It's the coolest book we've seen in a while." --, "Daily Favs"”

Rufus Butler Seder is an optical genius whose first significant invention was Lifetiles, glass-walled murals that appear to come to life when the viewer walks by. He has installed them at the Smithsonian, SeaWorld, Union Station among other museums, aquariums, train stations and ocean liners around the world. Next came Scanimation, and his company EyeThink, Inc., a business that produces a line of toys and gifts using technologies he’s invented. He lives in Boston, Massachusetts.
