Description

A laugh-out-loud page-turner from a brilliant author and illustrator team.

Praise for Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise: "This is the funniest picture book I have read in a long time" David Walliams

Cat has found a pair of sunglasses. She thinks they are going to make her look COOL. “I’m not just any old cat at the playground," she says. "I’m a real cool cat, gliding backwards down the slide, looking cooler than cool ... WITH EXTRA COOL ON TOP!” She pops on the glasses … confidently struts forwards and – Meooaaaooow! – falls down the slide. Oh, how UNCOOL. Can Pig or Cockatoo do any better?

From the team behind Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise and I Want to Be in a Scary Story comes a gloriously slapstick title that celebrates friendship, play and being yourself (no matter how goofy).

Critic Reviews

For the child worried about keeping up playground appearances, How to Be Cooler than Cool by Sean Taylor is a reminder that the coolest thing is to be yourself. The Daily Telegraph
My 5 year really likes this book. He was laughing all the way through. The illustrations are nice. My boy loved looking at the pictures. -- Parent Toppsta
There was lots of laugh out loud moments and full on giggles, especially when the pig ended up with the sunglasses on his tail! I was asked to read 3 times in a row, which is the sign of a good book. A lovely message to just enjoy yourself and not try to play a part or be something you are not. Great bold illustrations that really complement the text. -- Parent Toppsta
This 3 year old thought this book was hilarious! Before we read it together, she sat down and looked at the pages on her own and giggled away loudly at the pictures. Bright, bold illustrations and a great story about having fun and not trying too hard to be cool. When I asked her what she liked best she said ‘the silliness’. It’s a wonderful book. -- Parent Toppsta
Taylor and Jullien’s joyful, zingy and high-colour graphic picture book is brilliant fun for reading together – the high contrast and thick black outlines as well as the nice clear font make it super accessible while being stylish and silly with plenty of great phrases to copy. There’s also a lovely message about enjoying yourself and not worrying what other people think. BookTrust
