When John Blessing dies and leaves behind two small children, the loss reverberates across his extended family for years to come. Elise Juska's fiction and nonfiction have appeared in Ploughshares, The Gettysburg Review, Good Housekeeping, The Hudson Review, Harvard Review, and many other journals and magazines. Her story "The Way I Saw the World Then" was published in The Missouri Review and cited by The Best American Short Stories 2010. She is currently the director of the undergraduate Creative Writing program at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
