In this inspiring memoir, Jenna Woginrich reflects on the joys, sorrows, trials, and blessings discovered through a year of homesteading. With eloquent prose, delightful illustrations, and inspiring snippets of poetry, Woginrich revels in the unique charms of each season on the land. Full of poignant observations and fascinating tidbits of farming lore, this book is a heartfelt testament to the deep fulfilment one can find in the practical tasks and timeless rituals of an agricultural life.
“"This small, beautifully illustrated book is one of the best farm memoirs I've read. Woginrich's dedication to rural life is inspiring. Her week-to-week recollection of a year on her "one woman farm" shows all the joy she gains from her hard manual labor. But she also maintains a healthy realism and reminds the reader that farm life isn't for everyone. One Woman Farm: My Life Shared with Sheep, Pigs, Chickens, Goats, and a Fine Fiddle takes us from October to October, a full calendar of baby animals, frozen land, crop harvests, and solo holidays. The occasional handwritten recipe and inspirational quote make the book feel almost like a personalized guide to homesteading." -- Nautilus Book Awards - Books for a Better World”
"Jenna's writing is deep, philosophical and true to her heart. ... [her] little book changed my perspective to one of appreciation for all we have now, for next season with even more growing space and for a bug-free October day with dirt-covered hands and knees. ... Thank you, Miss Woginrich, for the reminder to savor each day. "
--Nautilus Awards "One Woman Farm is a book to be savored, helping the reader to contemplate what is truly important in life: sunrises, fresh food, the love of hard work and having a purpose in life. Woginrich's 'observational spiritual farming' is a gift to the reader."

--Nautilus Book Awards - Books for a Better World "A book of mindfulness, philosophy, music, musing, poetry, and the re-emergence of the most ancient of religions ... this fine little book is rich in loving immersion in a way of life, of neighborliness, [and] in longing ... Even those tasks for which she has had to hire or barter for help are enriching for her. And for her readers, to which fortunate band I urge you to add yourself."
