Evie P, the air-explorer has arrived for her first day at school, her unusual life spent in an air balloon has left her bereft of “ordinary” experiences, like classrooms, and friends, but she is full of quirk, adventure, and above all, inspiration. This story celebrates imagination, language, the joy of finding a sparkly new friend, and the art of play. With timeless illustrations by Andrew Joyner.

Petra James was born in a small town in the South Island of New Zealand, and came to Australia via London. She has written several fiction titles for children such as The Most Ungrateful Girl in the World and the seven books in the Arkie Sparkle series. Like Arkie Sparkle, she wanted to be an archaeologist when she grew up (she had planned to work her way through the career alphabet but didn't get past "A"), but instead sold chocolate chip cookies and eventually found her way into publishing. When she is not sending fictional characters on adventures, she works in children's publishing in Sydney.

Hapless Hero Henrie and Henrie's Hero Hunt are her first books with Walker.

Andrew Joyner is an award-winning illustrator from South Australia. Since his first picture book in 2009, The Terrible Plop, written by Ursula Dubosarsky, his books have been published in over 25 countries. He was chosen to illustrate an unpublished text by Dr Seuss, resulting in Dr Seuss’ Horse Museum, a showcase of Dr Suess talents and Andrew’s own.
