This is a great foundational book that has information that someone starting out would need in one place. There is an overview of fabrics, how to prepare them, and the typical application of each one. There are excellent colour illustrations of the techniques covered, both in line art and actual garments being sewn. This book is brilliant as an elevated resource of how to create garments. It supersedes the normal 'dressmaking' type texts. This is perfect for students who are needing to learn a more comprehensive range of garment construction skills. There is imagery and step by step explanations throughout. It's a great resource of terminology, fashion manufacturing processes and construction. I would recommend this to students for now and for future fashion design work.
