This keepsake children’s book explores emotions in a new and accessible way: through art
Emotions are part of every toddler's day ... and now, part of their first art collection! 35 full-page artworks from a variety of periods introduce emotions through one of the most important feelings of all - happiness. Each image is accompanied by a brief, tender, read-aloud text, and the work's title and artist's name are included as secondary material for true integration of narrative and information. It's a perfect introduction to this wonderful emotion for families of all kinds.
“"Shana Gozansky's board books stare head-on at naysayers arguing that fine art isn't for children... Gozansky's board books have the feel of a gift book from a museum exhibit; the cover is thick, textured, and gives the sense that there's a treasure inside... These books provide an introduction to famous works and what we can see in our own human experience through them."-- Cosmic Bookshelf "Helps children understand the meaning and power of love."-- Berkshire Life "Emotions for toddlers and pre-school children can be confusing. This book (my personal favourite) brings together 35 full-page colour artworks by famous artists, including Matisse, Jeff Koons and Antony Gormley, each accompanied by a short, read-aloud text that introduces the feeling of happiness (and its transitory nature)."-- The Independent "[A] clever little book. "-- Absolutely Mama”
‘Created for kids, these little books pair famous artworks (Gauguin! Kerry James Marshall!) with read-aloud text ("Love is… soft snuggles… and tender nuzzles"). So special -- adults will want them, too.’ – As Oprah says on OprahDaily.com (Oprah’s Favorite Things 2023)
‘Calling all art lovers with children in your lives: These books are for you. The kid-friendly books pair famous works of art with read-aloud text that lets little ones tap into themes of love, adventure and friendship.’ – USA Today on Oprah’s Favorite Things 2023
