Shannon Meyerkort is a West Australian author who enjoys finding meaningful real-life stories which can be turned into narratives. She comes from an academic background in the health and social sciences, loves research and is a complete history nerd. Shannon has written several prize-winning short stories, is a Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers' Centre 2022 Fellow and was awarded a place on the 2020 Four Centres Emerging Writers Program. As well as writing accessible stories for her youngest daughter who has dyslexia, Shannon is currently working on (at least) two novel manuscripts. She lives in Perth with her three daughters, two bunnies and a dog who rules them all.
Amy Blackwell is an artist and a creative dabbler based in Nottingham, UK. She's inspired by the weird and wonderful; clashing colours; the natural world; history; fashion and folklore. If there's any opportunity to draw patterns on something, she'll give it her best shot. Amy has had an online illustration and art business since graduating from university in 2007. She began illustrating books in 2018 including Earth Heroes and Aretha Franklin (Little People, Big Dreams #44). Brilliant Minds is Amy's second book with Affirm Press following the popular Rise Up!, published in 2019.
