Hirini Moko Mead

Hirini Mead (Ngati Awa, Ngati Tuwharetoa, Tuhourangi) is a writer, commentator and scholar of Maori language and culture.

Layne Harvey (Ngati Awa, Rongowhakaata, Te Aitanga-a-Mahaki, Te Whanau-a-Apanui, Ngati Kahungunu) is a Maori Land Court judge.

Pouroto Ngaropo (Ngati Awa) is Deputy Chairman of Te Runanga o Ngati Awa and an expert in tikanga Maori and performing arts.

Te Onehou Phillis (Ngati Awa) was a dedicated compiler of Ngati Awa histories. She was the author of Eruera Manuera and is an account of her father’s life. Te Onehou passed away in November 2012.
